Have you googled yourself lately?
If you haven’t, someone else has. Employers are googling (yup, it’s a word) employees, students are googling teachers, suitors, neighbors, and competitors are googling each other, and so on and so on.
It’s human nature to be curious about what others might find when they google you. Go ahead, google yourself and see what you find.
The problem is that most of us have little control over these search results. You may not like what you see. Or you may have a hard time finding yourself at all.
If you are one of the many people who happen to share a common name with someone else who is better known, it’s likely that you won’t find yourself on the first page of the search results. I am part of this group—Mary Archer is a pretty common name.
So, what are us common folk to do?
Google Profile Results gives you greater control over what people see when they search for your name.
It’s pretty easy to create your very own profile on Google. Do a search for your name. Then, scroll down to the bottom of the first page of the search results. Click on “Create your own profile on Google”.

And enjoy building your Google profile to help others find you!
