Customer LanguageIt’s important to use your customer’s language on your website or blog. It should come as no surprise that your customers don’t speak industry-jargon when searching for your site.

They don’t use the real estate industry term “short sale“, when searching for “foreclosure” online.  Real estate customers are also more likely to search for “mortgage rate” than “home loan rate” in Google. How do I know? Google told me so!

Yep, Google can help you discover what language your customers use. After all, they actually know what keywords your customer are searching for.  You can use Google AdWords Keyword Tool, Google Trends and Google Insights For Search to find out what keywords are used most for FREE!

Here’s a couple tips to make the most out of these tools:

  1. Log into your Google account before using any Google tools. Some tools restrict features when you are not logged in.
  2. Set Google AdWords Keyword Tool to “Exact Match” when looking for keywords for search engine optimization. It defaults to “Broad Match.”

Go ahead, start optimizing your site for the language YOUR customer is using! It could make a big difference to your bottom line!
